This page keeps the stories and creators that stay with me. Anime is a real influence, not an ironic hobby, and it sits next to film, hip-hop, and other media that keep expanding how I think.
The throughline is not fandom for its own sake. I care about work that tells the truth about people, raises the standard, and leaves me with something I can actually carry back into my own life.

Why anime matters here
A lot of the anime I care about deals directly with identity, loneliness, shame, ambition, recovery, and becoming someone worth trusting. Those are not small themes, and the best series handle them with more honesty than a lot of supposedly serious live-action work.
What I want from media
I keep coming back to stories that reward attention instead of shouting for it. The best ones are specific, emotionally accurate, and comfortable letting meaning build through detail instead of exposition.
How culture feeds the rest
Media gives me language. It sharpens taste. It reminds me what emotional range looks like when it is handled well. It also keeps the work from collapsing into pure utility, which is a fast way to lose the part of it that actually matters.
